Obituary for Chris Fincati

Chris Fincati
The family of Chris Fincati are deeply saddened by his sudden passing. Chris was born in Cudworth, SK on February 25th, 1939, the eldest son of Louis and Anna Marie (Baich) Fincati. Chris grew up in Regina, SK. Chris spent his working years in B.C, where he and his first wife Joyce raised their family. Chris was a railroader all of his working life and was proud of his time there. He treasured his mementoes and his railroad clock was very special to him. After retirement, Chris settled in Tasus B.C, then relocated to Kelliher, SK where he met Lenore. They quickly formed a bond, sharing a love of God and music, and both having suffered the loss of a child. Chris and Lenore married in 2010 and had many good years together. They completed a big project of compiling songbooks, from which they and others entertained at many senior gatherings. Chris and Lenore moved to Melfort, SK in 2014, where Chris's social nature brought him many new friends. Chris had long pursued his hobby of woodworking, in his earlier years doing intricate scroll work. After he and Lenore married, they built and painted bird houses, contributing many of them to the Kelliher Golf Course and several organizations in Melfort.
Chris was predeceased by his first wife Joyce, and his children Christopher Jr., and Debra. He is survived by his wife Lenore, step daughters Joan (Ken) McGown and family, and Heather (Dave) McLaughlin, his special daughter Catherine Millard, brother Gerry (Fran) Fincati, brother Philip (Delayne) Fincati, and sister Donna Fincati (Rick Byrne).
The family would like to thank Drs. Yemi and Omolambe of Melfort for their care of Chris over the last year.
The Funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 6, 2018 from St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Kelliher with Fr. Albert Schmitz officiating. Leonard Varga was the song-leader. The interment will take place in the Kelliher Memorial Gardens at a later date. Condolences can be left at baileysfuneralhome.com.
