Obituary for Anne Achtemichuk

Anne Achtemichuk
Anne Achtemichuk was born on December 9, 1928 in the Rhein district of Saskatchewan; a daughter of Phillip and Nettie (nee Shevkenek) Achtemichuk. She was raised on the farm and on November 29th 1947 was united in marriage to John Achtemichuk. The couple resided in Yorkton, raising their three children, Ken, Debi and Brenda. During her years in Yorkton, Anne's life was full, raising a young family, getting together with neighbors and friends over coffee. She also enjoyed hosting Tupperware parties at her home. In 1969 John accepted a transfer with his job, and the family soon after re-located to Winnipeg. Once they established their home Anne began working full time at the Airport Hotel. She enjoyed tending to a garden full of flowers and vegetables. Her yard was decorated with pink flamingo's, white swan planters and bird baths. Anne looked forward to the holidays, where she could spend time with her children and spoil her grandchildren. Following the death of John, Anne continued to maintain her home in Winnipeg until 2005, when she moved to Calgary with her daughter Debi to be closer to the rest of the family. In Calgary Anne cherished the times spent with her grand and great grandchildren. Anne passed away suddenly on Monday, March 26th 2018 after a short stay at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary. She was 89 years of age. Besides her husband John, Anne was predeceased by her son Ken and daughter Debi; and by her eight brothers & sisters. She is survived by her daughter Brenda and grandsons Nick and Matt (Ceara); daughter-in-law Brenda and grandsons Greg, Brad (James) and Marc (Elena); and grandson Todd (Tabi). Also six great grandchildren: Natalie, Mary, Lauren, Holly, Mason & Cole. The funeral service was held on Monday, April 9th 2018 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Doreen Day officiating. The interment followed in the Garden of St. Matthew.
