Judith Gale "Judy"  Ranson
Judy Ranson of the Mikado district passed away suddenly on March 20, 2018 as a result of a farm accident. She was 60 years of age. Judith Gale Ranson was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on April 15th, 1957, the middle daughter of John and Vicky Ranson. She completed her high school in Edmonton and attended N.A.I.T. on two occasions. Upon graduation from the Medical Laboratory Technologist's training in 1982, she worked in Edmonton. In 1986 she moved to Calgary and in 2001 she moved to her farm at Mikado, Saskatchewan, just north of Yorkton. Very shortly afterwards, she was hired by the Sunrise Health Region, where she worked as a Lab Tech in the Canora and Kamsack Hospitals, retiring in November of 2017.
Judy always had a keen interest in horticulture and raised acres of strawberries, making fruit leather that she sold at the Farmers' Market.
Judy was predeceased by her parents, John and Vicky Ranson. She is survived by two sisters, Anne & (her husband JP) Ratusz and Susan & (her husband Steven) Halla; one niece, Genevieve and three nephews, Jonathon, Michael & John; her aunt Virginia and aunt Rose; a number of cousins and a great many friends.
The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Jim Atcheson, Ruth Sinclair, Mary Roper and Betty Petersen as the officiants. The pianist, Jodi Cobb led the congregation in the singing of the hymns, "God's Word Is So Pure", "Teach Me Thy Way" and "Life's Short Day". Attending the guest register were Linda Quinton, Shirley Graham, Marlene Kennedy and Shannon Moore.
