Life Story for Harry Fedorki

FEDORKI - Harry Fedorki of St. Paul Lutheran Home, Melville, Saskatchewan entered his eternal rest on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the age of 95 years.
Harry was born on July 2, 1921 in Melville, Saskatchewan, to William and Mary (nee Kszyk) Fedorki. Harry received his education at Central School and helped his parents in their grocery store. Harry enlisted in the Air Force and served over seas for WWII. After serving his country, Harry returned to Melville and started his own construction business and built homes for the Co-op. He also purchased and renovated houses in order to rent or sell them. Harry was a Jack-of-all-trades. He made copper airplanes out of pennies, which he would give away to his friends. Harry enjoyed going to garage sales, feeding birds, listening to music and collecting teapots. He spoiled his cat, Oreo and his dog by preparing different food if they were not satisfied with the fare set before them.
Harry was very involved in the Bethany Evangelical Church. He repaired anything broken, shoveled snow and cut grass. He graciously welcomed friends and church members to his home with a pot of hot coffee and cookies.
When Harry’s health declined he moved to Morris Lodge in Bangor and, later, to Canora. Finally, Harry returned to his hometown of Melville and became a resident at St. Paul Lutheran Home. Harry was predeceased by his wife Jean; his parents, William and Mary; his brothers, Meter, Peter and Marc (Beth); sisters, Mary and Annie. Harry leaves to cherish his memory his best friend and companion, Gladys Giles; his coffee friends, Shirley Potts, Shirley Herman, Karen Richardson, Vince and Thelma Raczynski, Bev and Peter Franck; as well as nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from the Chapel of Bailey’s Funeral Home in Melville with Pastor Richard Gibson officiating.
Arrangements were by Bailey’s Funeral and Cremation Services, Melville.
