Life Story for Valerie LaVallee

Valerie Ann LaVallee (nee Lubenow) was born on January 13, 1947 to Ernest and Julianna Lubenow (nee Signarowki). Val was born and raised in Melville where she also raised her five children.
Val was employed with the Sunrise Health District, first as Home Care Aide, then later transferred as a Special Care Aide at St. Paul's Lutheran Home. A career she loved as she was able to share her kindness and compassion for others, but to also be a mentor to new Aides. On September 1, 2016, Val retired from Sunrise Health District after a 30 year career.
In her spare time, Val enjoyed spending time with her partner Tony (Antoine) Sparvier, her five children, five grand-children, tending to her flowers, and having coffee with her close friends.
After a courageous battle with cancer, Val peacefully entered eternal rest on January 27, 2017 at the age of 70.
Val was predeceased by her parents, Ernest (d. March 5, 1996), and Julianna (d. August 10, 1986).
Val will be lovingly missed and remembered by her partner of 35 years, Tony Sparvier, her children – Troy of Calgary, Cory (wife Heidi) of Estevan, Kelly (husband Patrick, and grandson Brendan) of Lloydminster, Sheldon (wife Nicole, and grandsons Grady and Aidan) of Melville, and Hutch (wife Katherine and grand-daughters Madeleine and Genevieve) of Regina, as well as her cat Jenny. She will also be missed by her extended family, friends, and co-workers.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Regina Pasqua Hospital and St. Peter's Hospital for all their care and compassion during this time. We would also like to thank all her friends and co-workers who came to visit during her stay at the hospital, as she always enjoyed seeing you and your visits would brighten up her day.
A Memorial Service was held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Bailey’s Funeral Home in Melville with Crystal Bailey, Certified Celebrant officiating.
